About The Hidden Bookshop
Tucked in the barn
The Hidden Bookshop lives in the barn at the back of our property — a quiet, characterful space to wander the shelves and lose an afternoon to a good find. It's self-checkout: take your time, pick your books, and check yourself out whenever you're ready.
Its shelves carry on the legacy of two beloved Book Village shops —Creative Corner Books and New York Books & Ephemera — founded by Kathy and George Duyer. When the Duyers retired, we acquired their collections and brought them home to the barn, so decades of careful curation live on under one roof.
The shop is seasonal, so hours shift with the time of year. During the season you'll find us open most of the week, morning into the evening.
Checking out is simple — scan your books at the stand and pay by card. Paying cash, or can't find a price? Pop inside during restaurant hours and we'll help, or find us at The Shops just across the street.
